<br />Regular Meeting of the City Council - July 12, 1976.

<br />The City Council met on the above date with the following
<br />members present: Mayor Demos, Councilmen Grauel, Hess,
<br />Anderson and Curley.
<br />
<br />A-I Grauel Moved, Hess Seconded, that the minutes of the regular
<br />meeting of June 28, 1976, be approved. Roll Call, Ayes:
<br />Grauel, Hess, Anderson, Curley and Demos. Nays: None.
<br />
<br />A-2 Curley Moved, Hess Seconded, that the minutes of the special
<br />meeting of June 30, 1976, be approved. Roll Call, Ayes:
<br />Grauel, Hes s, Anderson, Curl ey and Demos. Nays: None.
<br />
<br />B-1 Hess Moved, Grauel Seconded, that the request of Michel's
<br />Construction Company for final plat approval "Michel's Lake
<br />Park" at 2500 Hamline Avenue be continued until the meeting
<br />of August 9, 1976, Roll Call, Ayes: Grauel, Hess, Anderson,
<br />Curley and Demos. Nays: None.
<br />
<br />B-2 Hess t-1oved, Grauel Seconded, that Ken Reinhardt's request
<br />for final plat approval "Ken Reinhardt Addition No.3" at
<br />about 907 Sherren be continued until the meeting of August 9,
<br />1976. Roll Call, Ayes: Grauel, Hess, Anderson, Curley and
<br />Demos 0 Nays: None.

<br />B- 3 Curley Moved, Hess Seconded, that Rosewood Village Apartments
<br />request for amended special use permit at 1690 Highway 36 be
<br />approved with the condition that a four foot high fence with no
<br />gate be constructed from the east property line to the west
<br />property line of the Rosewood Village Apartments, the fence to
<br />be set back from Laurie Road behind the existing landscaping.
<br />Roll Call, Ayes: Grauel, Hess, Anderson, Curley and Demos.
<br />Nays: None 0

<br />B-4 Grauel Moved, Hess Seconded, that Winchells Donut House request
<br />for special use permit at 1215 Larpenteur Avenue be approved with
<br />the following conditions: 1) That the property be developed as
<br />shown on plans submitted by the applicant dated June 9, 1976.
<br />2) That sod be used rather than rocks along the frontage on
<br />Larpenteur Avenue, 3) That the building be constructed of similar
<br />brick material on all four sides. Roll Call, Ayes: Grauel, Hess,
<br />Anderson, Curley and Demos. Nays: None.

<br />B-5 Curley Moved, Anderson Seconded, that Overland Express, Inc.
<br />request for special use permit at 2755 Long Lake Road be denied
<br />for the following reasons: 1) The proposed use is considered to
<br />be a truck terminal type of use and not a repair garage, 2) It
<br />had been decided in the past that Long Lake Road would be a good
<br />area for the development of automobile dealerships. It is con-
<br />cluded that the proposed use is not compatible with the auto
<br />dealerships and would have adverse affect on the surrounding
<br />property 0 3) The proposed use is not compatible in the B- 3
<br />zoning district, 4) ThL proposed use will generate truck traffic
<br />which will cause traffic problems at Long Lake Road and the 35W
<br />entrance and exito Roll Call, Ayes: Grauel, Hess, Anderson,
<br />Curley and Demos. Nays: None.
