<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the city <br />Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly <br />held on the 25th day of February, 1991, at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Thomas, Cushman, Johnson, Maschka, <br />and Rog, and the following were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member Cushman introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 8660 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ROSEVILLE TO JOIN AN <br />ENVIRONMENTAL CITIES GROUP <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville recognizes its leadership role in pro- <br />tecting the environment of those people living and working with the <br />city; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City recognizes that there is a need for governmental <br />bodies to act quickly on many of the environmental problems facing <br />them; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City understands that there is a need by business, other <br />governmental bodies, and the public for uniform regulations across the <br />State; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City believes that one way to obtain this type of uniform <br />regulation is to work closely with other cities in such a way as to <br />coordinate the environmental legislation passed in these cities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the city also believes that this type of inter city coopera- <br />tion may act to stimulate State environmental legislation dealing with <br />the topics addressed by the cities and in a form acceptable to the <br />cities; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of <br />Roseville authorizes the City to join an Environmental cities Group, <br />to participate in its decision making processes, and to share <br />information with other Group members; <br /> <br />BE IT ALSO RESOLVED, that the City Council understands that although <br />the decisions of the Group are not binding to the City, the City has a <br />commitment to participate actively in the activities of the Group to <br />the fullest extent. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Member Johnson, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the <br />following voted in favor thereof: Thomas, Cushman, Johnson, Maschka, <br />and Rog, and the following voted against the same: None. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
