EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 25th day of February, 1991, at 7:30 p.m. The following members were present: Thomas, Cushman, Johnson, Maschka, and Rog, and the following were absent: None. Member Cushman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 8663 RESOLUTION OF COMMITMENT TO PROVIDE FUNDS EQUAL TO THOSE PROVIDED BY THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR THE PURCHASE OF 10,000 RECYCLING CONTAINERS WHEREAS, the City Council is committed to residential waste abatement through its curbside recycling program; and WHEREAS, in order to improve Roseville's curbside recycling program, the City Council will provide residents with recycling containers so as to increase participation, identity, convenience, curbside orderliness, and waste abatement; and WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has grant monies available through its Metropolitan Landfill Abatement Account FY '91 Grant Program for the purchase of recycling containers; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Roseville, Minnesota, that the City Manager is authorized to submit a grant application to the Metropolitan Council for the purchase of 10,000 recycling containers for use by Roseville residents. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the city Council of the City of Roseville hereby commits to supply matching funds for the purchase of 10,000 recycling containers contingent upon receipt of a grant from the Metropolitan Council. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Johnson, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Thomas, Cushman, Johnson, Maschka, and Rog, and the following voted against the same: None. WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
