<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING <br />OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council ofthe City <br />of Rose vi lIe, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 24th day ofJanuary, <br />2005, at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Maschka, Kough, Schroeder, lhlan and Klausing and the <br />following were absent: none. <br /> <br />Member Kough introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION No. 10274 <br />Second Resolution Requesting the Minnesota Department of Transportation to Reconsider <br />the Closure of the Median Crossover on Snelling A venue at Oakcrest Street <br /> <br />WHEREAS The City Council of the City of Ro sevi lIe understands that the Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation has closed the median crossover on Snelling Avenue, <br />South of County Road C; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS residents and business owners in the vicinity submitted a petition at the <br />Council Meeting on November 8, 2004, and shared verbal comments opposing the <br />proposed closure at the Neighborhood Meeting on January 12,2005. <br /> <br />WHEREAS residents and business owners believe this crossover does not present a <br />traffic hazard and that closing the crossover will be detrimental to nearby residents and <br />business owners; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council ofthe City of Roseville <br />formally urges the Minnesota Department of Transportation to consider reopening the <br />Snelling crossover pending construction of County Road C, in light of the public <br />comment received at the Neighborhood Meeting on January 12,2005; and when County <br />Road C construction is complete, make their final decision if permanent closure is <br />necessary. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council ofRoseville formally requests the <br />Minnesota Department of Transportation, before proceeding with the permanent closure <br />of the crossover, to conduct a public meeting at Roseville City Hall to allow nearby <br />residents and business owners to present information and public comment. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member <br />lhlan, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor: Maschka, Kough, <br />Schroeder, Ihlan and Klausing, and the following voted against the same: none. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
