<br />Maschka moved, Cushman seconded, that the City Manager
<br />be authorized to enter into an agreement to purchase
<br />the property at 2949 Mildred Drive for an amount not
<br />to exceed $74,000, to be taken from the Park Land Fund
<br />and to continue discussions with the owner of the
<br />property at 1895 West County Road C-2, with no trans-
<br />action completed until authorized by the city Council.
<br />Roll Call, Ayes: Maschka, Cushman, P. Johnson, and V.
<br />Johnson. Nays: Thomas.

<br />Maschka moved, Cushman seconded, that staff be
<br />authorized to use the state of Minnesota Grant for
<br />$16,500 and an amount not to exceed $30,500 from the
<br />Langton Lake Park Fund to provide two channels with
<br />bridges, a new crossing trail, rip rapping along the
<br />trail banks and park benches, and landscaping for
<br />Langton Lake Park. Roll Call, Ayes: Maschka, Cushman,
<br />Thomas, P. Johnson, and V. Johnson. Nays: None.

<br />and ordering preparation of a feasibility report for
<br />street lighting improvements on Heinel Drive be
<br />denied. Motion died for lack of a second.

<br />8831, receiving a petition and ordering preparation
<br />of a feasibility report for street lighting improve-
<br />ments on Heinel Drive, be adopted. Roll Call, Ayes:

<br />Thomas moved, Cushman seconded, that the City be
<br />authorized to submit a grant request for $10,000 to
<br />the Minnesota DNR for planting of trees along County
<br />Road C, with the city matching the $10,000 request as
<br />follows: $5,000 from the 1993 Contingency Account and
<br />the remainder from in kind services. Roll Call, Ayes:

<br />Thomas moved, Maschka seconded, that Resolution 8832,
<br />in support of preserving abandoned railroad grades for
<br />public trail use be adopted, and forwarding the reso-
<br />lution to the Friends of Ramsey County and st. Paul
<br />Parks Committee for discussion with the Minnesota
<br />Legislature. Roll Call, Ayes: Maschka, Cushman,
