1059 Woodhil1 Drive
~03evi11e, MN. 55113
September 10, 1994

Mayor Vern Johnson & Council Members;
City of Rosevi11e
2660 Civic Center Drive
Rosevi11e, MN. 55113

Dear Mayor and Members of the Council;

I regret that I will be unable to attend the Monday,
September 12 Council meeting and public hearing on the Comprehensive
La 11 d Use rIa J:1 .

However, my husband and I want you to know that we strongly
support maintainins, in its entirety, the site of the former
Lexington Selloo1 at the corner of Lexington Avenue and County
Road B as parkland. This parcel of land has been in the pub1~c
domain since long before we moved to Rosevi11e thirty-two years
ago. Even though the school no longer exists, the interest,
demand and pressures for publicly provided open and recreational
space do not decline, but actually appear to increase.

Therefore, since the City of Rosevi11e does, in fact,
own all of this property as a result of the agreement with
Rosevi11e Lutheran Church, and since there is a shortage of
open space and parkland south of Highway 36 in our City, it
seems that prudent land management requires preserving this
total parcel, including that portion currently zoned commercial,
as parkland.

We urge you to do so, on behalf of current and FUTURE
residents of the City of Roseville.

SinCerelY'~. ~
6~f J3~.. 0

Dr. & Mrs. James F.
