REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br />F -1 Goedeke moved, Maschka seconded, that a public hearing be established for WATER-SKI <br />the regular City Council meeting of Tuesday, May 27, 1997 to consider the Lake REQUEST <br />Owasso Safe Boating Association's request for approval of placement of a water- <br />ski course and water-ski jump on Lake Owasso. Roll Call, Ayes: Maschka, <br />Goedeke, Wiski, Mastel, and Wall. Nays: None. <br /> <br />F-2 <br /> <br />F-3 <br /> <br />Maschka moved, Mastel seconded, that Resolution 9410, authorizing <br />Application for an Auto Theft Reduction Grant, be adopted. Roll Call, Ayes: <br />Maschka, Goedeke, Wiski, Mastel, and Wall. Nays: None. <br /> <br />Mastel moved, Maschka seconded, that the City Attorney be instructed to <br />prepare, for consideration at the May 27, 1997 Council meetilng, an amendment <br />to a City ordinance that would raise cigarette and tobacco product sales license <br />fees from the current $25 per year to $100 per year. Roll Call, Ayes: Maschka, <br />Goedeke, Wiski, Mastel, and Wall. Nays: None. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br />9410 <br /> <br />CIGARETTE <br />LICENSE FEE <br />INCREASE <br /> <br />G. RECOGNITIONS <br />G~l Police Chief Paul Wood explained that the Explorers are YOWLg men and women EXPLORER <br />14 - 20 years of age who are trained in law enforcement actiVities. They POST 574 <br />participate in a yearly State competition at Breezy Point in Bminerd, which was <br />held April 24-26. The event was attended by more than 800 Explorer Scouts. <br />He then introduced Greg Levendoski, leader of Roseville Explorer Post 574. <br />Officer Levendoski had the Explorers present introduce them:;elves to Council, <br />and stated Roseville Explorers received eleven awards this year, placing them <br />third for most awards won among the 40 cities represented. <br /> <br />G-2 <br /> <br />H. <br />H-l <br /> <br />Mayor Wall stated he had received a letter from John Dunn, Coordinator of the <br />North Suburban Chorus, inviting everyone to attend their ben,~fit performance <br />"Reach Out In Song" on Friday, May 30, at 7:00 p.m. at Fairview Community <br />Center, 1910 West County Road B, in the Solarium. <br /> <br />HEARINGS <br />Maschka moved, Wiski seconded, that Dan H. Lam's, dba Hamline Liquors, <br />request for Off Sale Liquor License at 2825 N. Hamline Aven.ue be approved <br />with the following condition: That all required application items be submitted <br />before the license may be issued.
