<br />ORDINANCE NO. 119 <br />AN' ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDI1U.WCE NO. 100 ENTITLED: <br /> <br />53 <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR.ALL MATTERS CONCEmUNG, REGULATING OR AFFECTING THE <br />CONSTRUCTION, ALTERATION, REGULATION, REPAIR.AND INSPECTION OF ALL BUILDINGS, <br />WALKS, STRUCTIJRBlS EltEOTED OR TO BE ERI!1CTED IN THE VILLAGE OF ROSEVILLE FOR TEE <br />PROT.ECTI01~ OF PROPERTY AGAINST :Fm, AND :FOR THE PUBPOSE OF SECURING HEALTHFUL, <br />SAFE A.~ SANITARY ENVIRO:NMENT FOR TEE OCCUPANTS OF :BUIWINGS USED FOR HUMAN <br />1W3ITATION OR OTHERWISE; TO PROHIBIT THE UNLAWJl'tJL USE OR OCCUPANCY OF .ALL l3UILD1NGS, <br />WALLS, OR STRUCTURES AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEBEOF." <br /> <br />The Village Council of Roseville do ordain as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 1 <br /> <br />That Ordinance No. 100 entitled "An Ordinance Providing For All Matters <br />Concerning, Regulating or Affecting the Construction, Alteration. Regulation, <br />Repair and Inspection of all :Buildings, Walks, Structures Erected or to be Erected <br />in the Village of Roseville for the Protection of Property Against Fire, and for <br />the Purpose of Securing Healthful, Safe and. Sanitary Environment for the Occupants <br />of :Buildings Used. for Human Habitation or Otherwise; to Prohibit the Unlaw:ful Use <br />or Occupancy of all :Buildings, Walls, or Structures and. Providing Penalties for <br />the Violation Thereof" is hereby amended by striking subsection 11 of Section 4 <br />and. inserting in lieu thereof the following: <br /> <br />"Basements shall be provided with means of light and ventilation of <br />not less than two per cent of the floor area and. where a basement <br />is constructed. for use as a d.welling, either temporary or otherwise, <br />1 t shall provide two means of ingress and. egress whioh shall be <br />reasonably separated from each other. One place of ingress and <br />egress may be a window of a size not less than 30 inches by 30 inches. <br />There shall be a suitable ladder or steps provid.ed. and. maintained. <br />from said window to the basement so that there may be reasonable <br />access thereto.1I <br /> <br />SECTION 2 <br /> <br />This Ordinance ahall take effect and. be in force from and after its passage. <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />At ten: <br /> <br />~~/~~ <br />..
