<br />90 <br /> <br />CEDINANCE NO. 143 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE LICENSING AND EEGULATING THE BUSINESS OF SELL!NG AT RETAIL CHPIS'!'HAS <br />TREES IN THE VILLAGE OF ROSl'.."'VILJ..E Mffi PROVIDIHG A PENALTY FOR TEE VIOLATION THEREOF. <br /> <br />'rhe Council of the Village of Roseville ordains: <br /> <br />SECTIC~T I. <br /> <br />No person, firm or rorporation shall, within the Village of Roseville, <br />engage in the business of trading, bartering or selling cn;, cut evergreen, fir, <br />spruce, or other tree of like kind for what ip generally known and described as <br />a Christr.las tree, without first having ottained a license so to do. <br /> <br />SECTION II. <br /> <br />Every applicffilt for such license shall ~ile an epplication with the <br />Village Clerk stating his name, address, and arldress of the place of intended <br />sale of such trees, together with the nflne of the person from whom and the place <br />from which he intends to cut or secure th~ trees intended to be sold. <br /> <br />SBCTIOH III. <br /> <br />The applicant shall deposit with the Village Clerk at the time of the filing <br />of his application, the sum of Ten Dollars ($10.00), which is hereby set as the <br />license fee for the operation of said business and the Villpge Clerk shell there- <br />upon deliver to each applicant <1 duplicate receipt therefor containillg a stateMent <br />of the !lUrpOSC for which such deposit was made, and one of said receipts shall be <br />attachAd to and filed with said application. <br /> <br />SECT:::on IV. <br /> <br />The council shall direct such investigation as it may de~m necessary and <br />the applicant shall permit any representative of the village to inspect and <br />examine the place described in the application. The council shall thereafter <br />consider the epplication and grant or deny the same. <br /> <br />SECTION V. <br /> <br />No license shall be pro-rated for a period of less than one year. <br /> <br />SECTION VI. <br /> <br />Every licensee phall keep the place of sale in a clean ann orcerly condition <br />and unsalable trees shall be promptly removed therefrom, and UpC'ln termination of <br />business, ~ll of the un~old trees shall be re~oved from the place of bUFiness. All <br />unsalable trees removed from the place of businoss shall be taken to an authorized <br />dump or removed from the village. <br /> <br />SECTION VII. <br /> <br />Any person, firm or corporetion violating any of the provisions of this <br />ordinance, shall be guilty of a misdem(~anor punishable b;y a fine not to exceed <br />One hundred dollars ($100.00) or by ir.lprisonr.1ent not to excP-E"cd ninety (90) da~rs. <br />
