<br />157 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 166 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR THE INSTALLATION OR CONNECTION <br />OF GAS-FIRED EQUIPMENT AND APPARATUS, DIRECTING THE NORTHERN STATES POWER COMPANY <br />TO REFUSE GAS SERVICE FOR GAS-FIRED APPARATUS OR EQUIPMENT UNLESS A PERMIT HAS <br />BEEN ISSUED FOR THE SAME, PRESCRIBING CONDITIONS UNDER 'WHICH PERMITS MAY BE ISSUED, <br />PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE INSTALLATION OR CONNECTION OF GAS-FIRED EQUIPMENT AND <br />APPARATUS IN VIOLATION OF THE TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE. <br /> <br />The Council of the Village of Rosevi11e Does Ordain: <br /> <br />SECTION 1 <br /> <br />No apparatus or equipment to be used with gas supplied from the general gas <br />distribution system of the Northern States Power Company within the Village of <br />Rosevi11e shall be installed or connected for use without a permit having been <br />secured therefor from the Gas Inspector. <br /> <br />SECTION 2 <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />No permits shall be issued by the Gas Inspector for the installation or <br />connection for use of any gas-fired apparatus or equipment (except domestic ranges, <br />refrigerators, water heaters, or any gas equipment other than space heating equip- <br />ment, having an input rating of less than 50,000 BTU per hour) supplied from the <br />general gas distribution system of the Northern States Power Company located within <br />the Village of Rosevi1le, unless the application for said permit for such installation <br />or connection is accompanied by a certificate from said company operating such system <br />stating that it has the facilities and capacity to serve the equipment or apparatus <br />at the location designated. <br /> <br />SECTION 3 <br /> <br />The Northern States Power Company shall refuse gas service to the premises <br />wherein any gas-fired installation or connection is made contrary to the terms of <br />this ordinance, upon discovery of same, until the same has been disconnected and <br />removed. <br /> <br />SECTION 4 <br /> <br />Any person who shall authorize or contract for or perform work in connection <br />with the installation or connection of gas-fired apparatus or equipment contrar,y <br />to the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and <br />shall, upon conviction, be punished by fine of not exceeding One Hundred Dollars <br />($100.00), or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding ninety (90) days. <br /> <br />SECTION 5 <br /> <br />This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage <br />and publication. <br /> <br />Passed by the Council this 1st day of September, 1953. <br /> <br />(SEAL) <br /> <br />Att~l~ <br /> <br />B.
