<br />ORDINANCE NO. . ;/Y <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE RELATIVE TO '!HE CONTROL <br />AND OPERATION OF PUBLIC DANCE HAU.S. <br /> <br />The Village Council of Roseville does ordain: <br /> <br />SECTION I. <br /> <br />Definition. A public dance hall is hereby defined to be any room, <br />place or space open to general public patronage, in which is curried on <br />dancing wherein the public m~7 participate, 'Whether or not a charge for ad- <br />mission for dancing is made, and a public dance is hereby defined to be <br />one which is or may be attended by the public generally, whether or not <br />a charge for admi13sion for dancing is m.aae. <br /> <br />SECTION II. <br /> <br />Reports to Police. It is hereby made the duty of every owner or <br />manager of a public dance hall to report to the Chief of Police all <br />dances to be held in said dance hall at least twnty-four hours poior to <br />the holding thereof. <br /> <br />SECTION III. <br /> <br />Indecent Dancing. It is hereby made the duty of the manager or <br />proprietor of every dance hall to prohibit all indecent or vulgar dancing, <br />and to remove from the dance floor all persons indulging in any such vulgar <br />cr indecent style of dancing. <br /> <br />SECTION IV. <br /> <br />Minors Eestricted. It shall be unlawful for any person under <br />eighteen years of age to attend or participate, or to be permitted to <br />attend or participate, in any public dance; provided that this section <br />shall not apply to social centers operating under the control of the <br />Department of the Recreation Director. <br /> <br />SECTION V. <br /> <br />Hours. No public dance shall be held or conducted between the <br />hours of 1 o'clock and 6 o'clock A.M. of any day; provided that no public <br />dance shall be held or conducted on Sunday during the hours preceding 12 <br />o'clock noon thereof. It shall be and is hereby made unlawful for the <br />ower, proprietor, manager or other person in control cf or conducting <br />any public dancEl to issue or permit the issuance of pass-out checks, 60- <br />called, or a~ pasS, or checks, or documents or token vhich will entitle <br />the holder thereof to depart from and return to said dance or dance hall <br />wi thout again paying the regular entrance fee. <br />
