<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly <br />held on the 24th day of February, 1992 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Thomas, Maschka, P. Johnson, <br />Cushman, and V. Johnson <br />and the following members were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member Cushman <br />moved its adoption: <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 8772~ <br /> <br />URGING THE STATE OF MINNESOTA TO EXPAND THE <br />FUNDING FOR THE STATE OUTDOOR RECREATION GRANT PROGRAM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State has invested over $50 million in local outdoor <br />recreation projects, which has been matched by over $57 million in <br />local government funds; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the state program has been significant incentive to local <br />governments to undertake needed park acquisition and development <br />projects; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State program has helped accelerate renovation and <br />replacement of facilities that did not meet the handicapped accessible <br />standards; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, parks play an important role in many communities' economic <br />development efforts by improving the desirability of the community as <br />a place to live and work; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the demand for State assistance through this program remains <br />strong and that in 1991 only $1 million in State funds were available <br />to help meet over $4 million in grant requests; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of <br />Roseville, Minnesota, that the Council urges the State to continue and <br />expand funding for the State I s Outdoor Recreation Program to help <br />local governments throughout Minnesota provide adequate outdoor <br />recreation opportunities, acquire and protect open space areas and <br />improve the quality of life for present and future generations. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Member P. Johnson , and upon a vote being taken <br />thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Thomas, Maschka, P.
