<br />VILLAGE OF ROSEVILLE <br />ORDINANCE No.jl9i <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 20.090 OF THE VILLAGE CODE, <br />BY REQUIRING CERTAIN ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION LINES AND TELEPHONE <br />SERVICE LINES TO BE CONSTRUCTED UNDERGROUND IN NEWLY PLATTED <br />RESIDENTIAL AREAS. <br /> <br />The Village Council of the Village of Roseville does hereby <br /> <br />ordain: <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />20.090(7) of the Village Code of the Village of Roseville <br /> <br />~s hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />(7) Public Utilities. <br /> <br />(a) All new electric distribution lines (excluding <br />main line feeders and high voltage transmission lines), <br />telephone service lines and services constructed within <br />the confines of and providing service to customers in a <br />newly platted residential area shall be buried under- <br />ground. Such lines, conduits or cables shall be placed <br />within easements or dedicated public ways, in a manner <br />which will not conflict with other underground services. <br />Transformer boxes shall be located so as not to be <br />hazardous to the public. <br /> <br />(b) The platter is responsible for complying with <br />the requirements of this subdivision, and shall submit <br />to the Planning Commission a written certification <br />from the utilities showing that the necessary arrange- <br />ments with the utility involved for the installation of <br />said facilities have been made. <br /> <br />(c) The Village Council may waive the requirements <br />of underground services as set forth in (a) and (b) <br />above, if, after study and recommendation by the Plan- <br />ning Commission, the Council establishes that such <br />underground utilities would not be compatible with the <br />planned development, or unusual topography, soil, or <br />other physical conditions make underground installation <br />unreasonable or impractical. <br />
