VILLAGE OF ROSEVILLE ORDINANCE No.jl9i * * * * * * * AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 20.090 OF THE VILLAGE CODE, BY REQUIRING CERTAIN ELECTRIC DISTRIBUTION LINES AND TELEPHONE SERVICE LINES TO BE CONSTRUCTED UNDERGROUND IN NEWLY PLATTED RESIDENTIAL AREAS. The Village Council of the Village of Roseville does hereby ordain: I. 20.090(7) of the Village Code of the Village of Roseville ~s hereby amended to read as follows: (7) Public Utilities. (a) All new electric distribution lines (excluding main line feeders and high voltage transmission lines), telephone service lines and services constructed within the confines of and providing service to customers in a newly platted residential area shall be buried under- ground. Such lines, conduits or cables shall be placed within easements or dedicated public ways, in a manner which will not conflict with other underground services. Transformer boxes shall be located so as not to be hazardous to the public. (b) The platter is responsible for complying with the requirements of this subdivision, and shall submit to the Planning Commission a written certification from the utilities showing that the necessary arrange- ments with the utility involved for the installation of said facilities have been made. (c) The Village Council may waive the requirements of underground services as set forth in (a) and (b) above, if, after study and recommendation by the Plan- ning Commission, the Council establishes that such underground utilities would not be compatible with the planned development, or unusual topography, soil, or other physical conditions make underground installation unreasonable or impractical.
