<br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />AN ORDINANCE NO. 793 <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 131 TO THE CITY CODE <br />REGULATING AND LICENSING CONVERSATION PARLORS. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Roseville does hereby <br /> <br />ordain: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Chapter 131 of the City Code is hereby enacted to <br /> <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />131 <br /> <br />Conversation Parlors. <br /> <br />131. 010. License No person, firm, or corporation <br />shall engage in the business of operating a conver- <br />sation parlor in the City of Roseville without a <br />license. <br /> <br />131.020. Definitions. <br /> <br />(1) The term "Conversation Parlor" as used in this <br />Chapter shall mean any establishment advertising, <br />offering or selling the service of engaging in or <br />listening to conversation, talk or discussion between <br />an employee of the establishment and a customer, <br />regardless of whether other goods or services are <br />also simultaneously advertised, offered or sold, <br />and regardless of whether those other goods or <br />services are also required to be licensed. <br /> <br />(2) The term "Conversation Parlor" shall not include <br />bonafide legal, medical, psychiatric, psychological, <br />or counselling services by a person or firm appropriately <br />licensed nor shall it include bonafide educational <br />institutions, or panels, seminars or other similar <br />services offered by such institutions nor shall it <br />include churches or synagogues. <br /> <br />131.030. License Fee. The annual license fee for a <br />"Conversation parlor" shall be $10,000.00. <br />
