<br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />ORDINANCE NO. 840 <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 251.040 and 251.050 SETTING <br />FORTH A NOID1AL RETIREMENT AGE AND A MANDATORY RETIREMENT AGE FOR CITY <br />EMPLOYEES. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Roseville does hereby ordqin: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sections 251.040 and 251.050 are amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />251.040. Normal Retirement A~e. All employees <br />shall retire at their normal retirement age which is <br />the last working day of the month that the employee <br />reaches his 65th birthday, unless such retirement age <br />is extended pursuant to Section 251.050. <br /> <br />251.050. Extension to Mandatory Retirement A~e. <br />Mandatory retirement age shall be the last working nay <br />of the month that an employee reaches his 70th birthday. <br />An employee shall be eligible to work beyond his normql <br />retirement age until his mandatory retirement age or <br />such other age between his normal retirement age and his <br />mandatory retirement age. In every case where an <br />employee approaches his normal retirement age, he shall <br />be notified in writing, at least ninety (90) days, but <br />not more than 120 days prior to his normal retirement <br />date, of the option to continue employment beyond his <br />normal retirement date. Such notice shall state in a <br />conspicuous manner that the employee must respond to the <br />notice within thirty (30) days or the right to continue <br />employment beyond the normal retirement date may be waived. <br />If the employee notifies the City, in writing,within <br />thirty (30) days after receipt of the City's notice to <br />the employee, of the employee's desire to continue employ- <br />ment beyond the normal retirement date, the City shall <br />allow employment of the employee until the employee's <br />mandatory retirement date or such sooner date as requested <br />by the employee. The employee's employment shqll continue <br />for so long as the employee desires, until his mandqtory <br />date, or until such time as the employee is no longer able <br />to meet the bonified requirements, consistently applied, <br />for the job or position the employee is employed in. <br />
