<br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />ORDINANCE NO. 843 <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF ROSEVILLE, BY AMENDING SECTION 32.020 THEREOF AND <br />REQUIRING A DEPOSIT UPON ISSUANCE OF CERTAIN BUILDING <br />PERMITS. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Roseville does <br /> <br />hereby ordain: <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />The City Code of the City of Roseville is hereby <br /> <br />amended by amending Section 32.020, to read as follows: <br /> <br />32.020. Deposit for Protection of Concrete Curbs, <br />to Insure Cleaning of Streets, and to Insure Compliance <br />with the Building Code. <br /> <br />At the time a permit is applied for on any new <br />construction and on any remodeling project or addition <br />which in the reasonable opinion of the Chief Code <br />Enforcement Officer involves more than 50% of the cost <br />evaluation of the existing structure, the permit shall <br />also require a cash deposit. In the case of a permit <br />issued for a project involving a dwelling or accessory <br />structure thereto, the amount of such deposit shall be <br />$400. In the case of any other project, the deposit <br />shall be the greater of $400 or 1% of the total valuation <br />as determined from the building permit, but not exceed- <br />ing $2,000. Such deposit shall be required and applied <br />as necessary to: <br /> <br />(1) Protect against damage to the abutting <br />street, concrete curb, or other City facility occurring <br />by reason of such construction, and; <br /> <br />(2) Defray the cost of cleaning streets if the <br />City is required to do so. <br /> <br />The deposit, or unused portion thereof shall be <br />refundable upon issuance of an occupancy permit in <br />accordance with Section 31.170 hereof. <br />
