CITY OF ROSEVILLE ORDINANCE NO. 905 * * * * * * * * * * * AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE BY ADDING SECTION 87.160 ESTABLISHING FIRE LANES AND PROHIBITING PARKING IN FIRE LANES. The City Council of the City of Rosevi1le does hereby ordain: I. The City Code of the City of RoseviUe is hereby amended by adding Section 87.160, to read as follows: 87.160. Fire Lanes. (1) In order to establish areas of access for firefighting equipment, the fire chief may designate fire lanes along the curb of public and private roadways adjacent to buildings. Within thirty (30) days of notification of such designation, in writing, by the fire chief, the owner of the property adjacent to such fire lanes shall, at the property owner's expense: (a) Post and maintain signs approved by the fire chief reading, in substance, "NO PARKING -- FIRE LANE." Such signs shall be posted at each end of the fire lane and at least at everyone hundred (100) foot interval within the fire lane. (b) Paint and maintain the painting of the curbing along the fire lanes in a yellow color. (2) No vehicle, except an authorized emergency vehicle, may be parked in a fire lane. Vehicles in violation of this section may be removed, impounded, and kept in custody under the direction of the chief of police. II. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication. PASSED by the City Council of the City of Roseville this 10th day of May , 1982.
