CITY OF ROSEVILLE ORDINANCE NO. 910 * * * * * * * AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 117 OF THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE REQUIRING GAME ROOMS TO IMPLEMENT A SECURITY PLAN AND ALLOWING GAME ROOMS TO REMAIN OPEN UNTIL 12:00 MIDNIGHT ON FRIDAY AND SA TURDA Y. The City Council of the City of Roseville does hereby ordain: I. Sections 117.010 and 117.020 of the City Code of the City of Roseville is hereby amended to read as follows: 117.010. Definitions (1) An "amusement device" is an electronic or mechani- cal game of skill or chance requiring the payment of money to play or operate, is not a "gambling device" as defined by Minnesota Statutes, and is licensed by the City. (2) An "amusement device manager" is an adult em- ployee of an establishment operating amusement devices whose primary duties are the supervision of the amusement devices. (3) A "game room" is a business establishment, more than fifty percent (50%) of the gross receipts of which are derived from the operation of amusement devices, has an amusement device manager on the premises during all hours of operation, is licensed by the City, and has implemented a security plan which has been approved by the Chief of Police. 117.020. Operation of Amusement Devices. Maintaining and operating an amusement device in a business establishment is prohibited, except: (1) Up to four (4) licensed amusement devices may be maintained and operated in any business establish- ment in the City. (2) Game rooms may maintain and operate in excess of four (4) amusement devices between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 midnight, Friday and Saturday.
