All signals received from the headend and hub locations will be demodulated and fed into a computer-controlled video switching system distributed by Ditech Inc. This concept and equipment will provide almost unlimited capacity for switching programs between various cables and between the headend and hub locations via the F.M. transportation cable. This capacity is important to all aspects of the cable system, but is of much greater sig- nificance to institutional traffic routing. (4) Describe how the upstream/downstream network will be coordinated. The upstream/downstream network will be coordinated by the Direc- tor of Interactive/Institutional Services. His or her exclusive responsibility will be to function as liaison between Telepromp- ter and the Institutional Network users. The Director will be responsible for seeing that the centralized switching equipment is functioning so as to adequately accommodate the users.
