<br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br />ORDINANCE NO. 999 <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 82.130 OF THE CITY CODE OF THE <br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE, REGULATING NEWSPAPER VENDING MACHINES IN <br />PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Roseville does hereby <br /> <br />ordain: <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />Section 82.130 of the City Code of the City of Roseville is <br /> <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />82.130. Newspaper Vending Machines in Rights of <br />Way. No newspaper vending machine may be placed or <br />maintained in a public right-of-way without the <br />publisher notifying the Public Works Director, in <br />writing, of the location of the vending machine. <br /> <br />Placement of vending machines shall comply with <br />the following conditions: <br /> <br />(1) A newspaper vending machine may be placed no <br />nearer than four (4) feet away from the roadway curb or <br />the edge of the roadway where no curb exists. <br /> <br />(2) The maximum size of a newspaper vending <br />machine shall be four (4) feet height, two (2) feet <br />long, and two (2) feet deep. <br /> <br />(3) No more than one (1) newspaper vending <br />machine per newspaper publisher may be placed within <br />eight hundred (800) feet of any other newspaper vending <br />machine of that same newspaper publisher. <br /> <br />(4) No newspaper vending machine may be attached <br />to a public facility such as a utility pole, roadway <br />sign, or fireplug. <br /> <br />(5) A newspaper vending machine shall be of a <br />single color, except for lettering on the machine which <br />shall not exceed four (4) inches in height. Such <br />lettering shall identify the newspaper only and shall <br />not be an advertising sign. <br /> <br />(6) At the request of the Public Works Director, <br />a newspaper vending machine shall be removed in order <br />
