<br />EXTRACT OF MINlJfES OF lvlEETING OF THE VILLAGE COUNCI L <br />OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA, HELD ON [vlARCH 8, 1965 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of <br /> <br />the Village Council of the Village of Roseville, Minnesota, was duly <br /> <br />held in the Village Hall, 2701 North Lexington Avenue, St. Paul, <br /> <br />Minnesota, on Monday, the 8th day of March, 1965, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Mayor Cedarholm, Trustees <br />Cur ley, Goodrich, Graue 1 and Shie Ids <br /> <br />and the following were absent: None <br /> <br />Member Curley <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved <br /> <br />its adoption. <br /> <br />RESOLlJfION NO. 1166 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, more than 90% of the employees presently members of PERA <br />of the Village of Roseville, have by petition, a copy of which is attached <br />hereto, expressed their disapproval with the Public Employee Retirement <br />Association (PERA Plan) as it is presently constituted; and <br /> <br />~~EREAS, the Village of Roseville has consistently opposed legislation <br />seeking to broaden the base or otherwise extend benefits under the PERA as <br />it is now constituted; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the provisions of the Federal Social Security Act provide <br />for a system of Old Age Survivor's and Disability Insurance (OASDI) which <br />would benefit many of the Village of Roseville employees as well as those <br />of other governmental units throughout the State, while not jeopardizing <br />the benefits of those employees whose best interest dictates their <br />continuance under PERA; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Village Council of Roseville has enthusiastically supported <br />the proposed legislation drafted by the Minnesota League of Municipalities <br />for coordination of the OASDI and PERA Benefits; therefore. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY TIlE Village Council of the Village of Roseville <br />that passage be urged in the strongest possible terms of Senate File 617 <br />and House File 900 introduced into the legislature of the State of t\linnesota <br />
