Special Meeting Roseville Planning Commission
Monday, April 19, 1965 - 5:00 P.M.

Members Present: Jim Nelson. Linebarger, Anderson, L. O. Nelson. Membrez, Howard Dahlgren,
Village Planner, Grauel, Trustee and Odland, Public Works Director, were
also present.

File 264 - Dr. Kennedy's request for a setback variance. property N.E. corner of Roma and
Lexington. Dr. Kennedy requested a setback on Roma Avenue of 25 feet instead
of 30 feet. The main reason for this variance was to save a row of trees along
the north side of the proposed Doctor's Clinic Building he proposes to build.

Mrs. Fredrickson, 1806 North Lexington; Mrs. Sheen, 1820 North Lexington and
Harry Pothen at first were opposing the granting of this request. They were
under the impression Lexington Avenue was going to become a freeway and they
suggested a wider setback on the Lexington Avenue side. They were told the
is.sue here was a variance in the setback on Roma Avenue. Everyone finally agreed
that they had no objections to this 5 foot variance. Anderson moved, L. O.
Nelson seconded, to recommend the granting of the variance. Carried by a
unanimous vote.

File 261 - Harold Anderson variance request on a side yard setback - N.W. corner of Grandview
and St. Albans. Mr. Anderson had previously requested a setback of 15 feet
instead of 30 on St. Albans side. The request had been denied. He altered his
house plans facing the garage on Grandview instead of St. Albans as originally
proposed. This new request of approximately 17 feet setback would not adversely
affect the corner visibility and would allow enough driveway in which to park
an automobile without extending on to the right-of-way. Nelson moved, Linebarger
seconded to recommend the granting of the variance. Carried by a unanimous vote.

A proposed Planning Program submitted by Midwest Planning & Research in cooperation
with Community Planning Division of the State Department of Business Development
to cost $21,000 of which 2/3 would be paid by a Federal grant and 1/3 by the
Village in the form of money and services rendered by Village employees.

Anderson moved, Nelson seconded. that we recommend to the Village Council to
adopt this well prepared report dated March. 1965. Carried by a unanimous vote.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted.

George A. Membrez, Secretary.
