<br />Roseville Planning Commission Meeting <br />Wednesday, February 3, 1971 <br /> <br />The February 3, 1971, meeting of the Roseville Planning Commission was called to order by <br />Chairman ~fembrez at 7:35 PoMo <br /> <br />Members present~ Kellett, Demos, Johnson, Edlund and ~fembrezo Pope arrived at 7:40 PoMo <br /> <br />~fembers absent: <br /> <br />Eagles <br /> <br />Others present: <br /> <br />Councilman Albert Grauel, Pub lic Works Director Sherman Goldberg, <br />Midwest Planning representative Dick Dyne11 and Administrative <br />Assistant Steve North <br /> <br />Mro Johnson ~foved and Mro Kellett seconded, that the minutes of the meeting of December 2, <br />1970, be approved with the following amendment: <br /> <br />"Page 5, Paragraph 8, which includes the motion directing Midwest Planning to <br />study the Planned Unit Development concepto 0 00 add the following: "Mrs. Demos <br />voted Nay on the motion because she felt it unnecessary for Midwest Planning to <br />request the Minnesota Society of Architects for their opinion ,however, she favored <br />the general intent of the motion" 0 Ro 11 Call, Ayes: Kellett, Demos, Johnson, <br />Edlund, Membrezo Nays: Noneo <br /> <br />Planning File 592=70 ~ Richard Coverdale request for rezoning from R~l to R=2 at <br />1760 North Hamline Avenue <br /> <br />Mro ~fembrez indicated that this application had been laid over from the last Planning <br />Commission meeting, pending receipt of a report from ~fidwest Planning regarding the requir- <br />ing of design plans for proposed two unit family dwellingso Mro ~1embrez stated that the <br />report had been received and that the Commission shmlld take action on the recommendation. <br /> <br />Present ation <br /> <br />Mro Coverdale stated that he had made the application for rezoning last .July and felt <br />that he was entitled to a decision, He indicated that he had fulfilled the requirements <br />expected of him and desired that he receive just considerationo <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Mr, Edlund stated that the basic problem was that the Commission had no way, at present, <br />of assuring that the applicant would complete the construction as outlined to the CommissiOJ <br /> <br />Mro .Johnson pointed out that if Mr, Coverdale should not proceed with his project after <br />having been granted the re zoning, that another party could construct a doub Ie house of any <br />design without even appearing before the Commissiono <br /> <br />Mro Membrez stated that, in his opinion, this project would certainly be beneficial to that <br />area of Hamline Avenue 0 <br /> <br />~lro Coverdale indicated his willingness to withdraw the request for rezoning of the three <br />lots on Dellwood and request only the rezoning on the four lots bordering Hamlineo <br /> <br />Mro McGrath, 1800 North Ham line , was in favor of the proposed rezoning for the construction <br />of double bungeIowso <br /> <br />~frs 0 Ui1liger, 1811 North Hamline, felt that doub Ie bungelows would certainly improve the <br />annearance of the area and was in favor of the rezoninl!o <br /> <br />Mt'. .Johnson exm'essed his onnosition to the rezoning on Dellwood and appreciated <br />
