Jotmson, V. Jo}mson and <br />Pope Nays: None. <br /> <br />PLuming rUe 70S - George Brandt request for vadance to rear yard setback at <br />2975 Long Lake Road <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />!\1r. Jim Sweitzer of Sweitzer Construction Company represented Mr. George Brandt. <br />He indicated that Mr. Brandt anticipates purchasing the 2.3 acre parcel that is <br />being divided by the previous applicant, Minnesota Transfer Railway. He stated <br />that }'1r, Brandt is seeking a variance from the ordinance which requires a minimum <br />100 foot setback when an industrial district abutts a resi.dential district. The <br />warehouse would be constructed 67 feet from an R-3 A district located to the west <br />of the property. The R-3 A property to the west is a small corner of a larger parcel <br />\vhlch has been developed under a planned unit development and there is no plan for <br />constructIon of any facility on th:lt small triangle, <br /> <br />Recorrunendation <br /> <br />1'>11. Go Johnson moved and ML Kellett seconded that the Corrnnission recononend approval <br />of George Brandt's request for variance to rear yard setback at 2975 Long Lake Road. <br />Roll Call, Ayes: Demos, Eagles, Kellett, G. Johnson, V, Johnson and Pope. Nays: <br />None, <br /> <br />Planning File 706 - Ban-Con, Inc, request for v'ar iance to front yard setback at <br />2535 Aladdin Street <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />My. Howard Ihmt of Ban-Con, InCo indicated that the var iance being applied for is <br />somewhat unique because the Village has a 37 foot right-of-way on Alatldin Street <br />at the location of this property, He stated that if the house were to be built <br />with the required 30 foot setback i.t 1vould sit way to the rear of the other houses <br />on the block. Therefore, Ban-Con }s requesting a variance to permit the house to be <br />constructed 10 feet from the propeIty line which would still place it farther back <br />on the lot than the adjacent houses to the north. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />ML Howard Halvorson who resides immediately to the Tear of the property In <br />question indicated that he favored granting the variance, <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Mr. V, Jolmson moved and My, Kellett sec.onded, that the Commission recorrunend <br />approval of Ban-Con, Ine request for variance to front yard setback at 2535 <br />Aladdin Street. Roll Call, Ayes: Demos, Eagles, Kellett, G, Johnson, V, <br />Johnson and Pope. Nays: None, <br />
