Roseville Planning Commission Minutes
October 2, 1985

Page 12

Discussion
Matson pointed out that the Council had asked for a B-2 zone
limitation and not B-3 or B-4 as depicted on the report. Demos
pointed out that this was designed to pertain strictly to one piece of
property. Wiski stated he was concerned as to why other special uses
couldn't be utilized through the same purpose rather than limiting it
to a particular liquor store. Demos pointed out again that the
Council carefully drafted this ordinance to address a single piece of
property.

Matson pointed out that he thought the protection of the B-1 parcel
was a favorable move on the part of the City Council. He also stated
he hoped the Council would be receptive to additional recommendations
regarding this particular issue. He pointed out that at the time of
the Planning Commission Meeting, they were not aware they could split
the parcels in terms of the rezoning consideration.

Wiski again reiterated that he thought they should consider broadening
the ordinace.

Recommendation
Matson moved, seconded by Berry, to approve the ordinance regarding
liquor store parking, and also requested as part of the motion that
the Council consider parking as a special use to a B-1 area or as part
of the liquor store special use, parking would be allowed in an
adjacent B-1.

Discussion
DeBenedet agreed that a number of options should be considered
with respect to this particular issue, with a possible broadening
of the interpretation as one particular choice.

Roll Call, Ayes: Matson, Johnson, Mueller, Berry, DeBenedet,
Dressler, and Wiski.
Nays: None.

Other Business
Wiski asked whether a representative was serving on the Human
Serivces Advisory Committee of Ramsey County. Demos replied that
Polly Franke was covering said meetings.

Adjournment
The meeting adjourned at 11:50 p.m.
