<br />ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />Wednesday, April 9, 1986 <br /> <br />The April 9, 1986 regular meeting of the Roseville Planning <br />Commission was called to order by Chairman Donn Wiski at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Members Present: DeBenedet, Goedeke, Johnson, Maschka, Moeller, <br />and Wiski. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Berry. <br /> <br />Staff Present: Dahlgren, Honchell, Janisch, and Waldron. <br /> <br />Ex Officio Member: Mayor Demos. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Goedeke moved, DeBenedet seconded, that the minutes of the regular <br />meeting of March 5, 1986 be approved with the modification <br />reflecting the fact that the Roll Call on the Nielsen project was <br />six to zero. <br /> <br />Roll Call: Ayes: <br />Nays: <br />Abstain: <br /> <br />DeBenedet, Goedeke, Johnson, Maschka, and Wiski. <br />None. <br />Moeller. <br /> <br />Planning File 1650 <br />Northwestern College request for Special Use Permit and parking <br />variance at 3003 N. Snelling Avenue. <br /> <br />Presentation <br />Dahlgren showed the site on a larger map, and pointed out how the <br />school is divided between Roseville and Arden Hills. Mr. Dahlgren <br />stated that the City approved a P.U.D. in 1977, and also explained <br />how a P.U.D. works in an instance such as the proposed project. <br />Mr. Dahlgren also pointed out the proposed modifications relating <br />to the buildings, the athletic fields, and the roadway modifica- <br />tions. He proceeded to review the drainage, lighting, and landscape <br />plans, and pointed out where new parking areas were proposed on <br />the site. <br /> <br />Dr. Ericksen, President of Northwestern College, discussed the <br />history of the institution, and pointed out how the athletic <br />fields are really needed at this point in time. He also discussed <br />the required setbacks, and how the College is working to comply <br />with the required guidelines. <br /> <br />Maschka asked what the elevation was of the proposed dorm, compared <br />to the existing dormitory on the site. Ericksen stated that the <br />proposed dorm is basically the same height of the existing facility, <br />and he also stated it was his impression, based on the previous <br />P.U.D. approval, that the new dorm was, indeed, also approved. <br />
