<br />ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />Wednesday, October 7, 1987 <br /> <br />The October 7, 1987, regular meeting of the Roseville Planning <br />Commission was called to order by Chairperson Pat Johnson at 7:30 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />Members Present: Johnson, Maschka, Berry, Stokes, DeBenedet, <br />Goedeke, and Moeller. <br /> <br />Members Absent: None. <br /> <br />Staff Present: Waldron, Dahlgren, and Janisch. <br /> <br />Council Present: Cushman (liaison) and Kehr. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Berry moved, Maschka seconded, that the minutes of the regular <br />meeting of the Roseville Planning Commission held Wednesday, <br />September 2, 987, be approved. <br /> <br />Roll Call, Ayes: Johnson, Maschka, Berry, Stokes, DeBenedet, <br />Goedeke and Moeller. <br />Nays: None. <br /> <br />Planning File 1781 <br />Motel 6 request for a Special Use Permit at 2300 Cleveland Avenue <br />North. <br /> <br />Presentation <br />Mr. Dahlgren showed the area, which is essentially the former <br />Victoria Station site. Dahlgren pointed out that this is <br />currently zoned B-1b, and requires a special use permit for site <br />plan approval. The proposal is 112 units, and it meets all City <br />standards. <br /> <br />Dave Reynolds, representing Motel 6, stated that this development <br />was significantly upgraded through the use of brick compared to <br />the standard Motel 6. <br /> <br />Johnson <br />replied <br />tially, <br />in this <br /> <br />asked what type of signing would be used. Reynolds <br />that the sign would be handled separately and essen- <br />Motel 6 hires a local sign agency to work with the City <br />respect. <br /> <br />Johnson asked whether -the sidewalk would constructed as required. <br />Reynolds replied that construction was planned in the area and, <br />therefore, the money would be escrowed for the sidewalk. <br /> <br />Goedeke asked the status of the Heritage Inn. Waldron replied <br />that Strick Lease, which currently occupies the Heritage Inn <br />site, is negotiating with Ettinger to utilize excess space for <br />trailer storage. This would then open up the current Strick <br />Lease site for the Heritage Inn development. <br />
