<br />ROSEVILLE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />September 11, 1991 <br /> <br />paget <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />Pascual Signs/william Cragg request for sign size variance at 2575 <br />Fairview Avenue. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Carlson explained that the applicant has withdrawn their <br />application. <br /> <br />MOTION <br /> <br />Stokes moved and Roberts seconded a motion to accept withdrawal of <br />Pascual Signs/William Cragg request for sign size variance at 2575 <br />Fairview Avenue. <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Goedeke, Harms, Thomas, Roberts, <br />Stokes, DeBenedet <br /> <br />Nayes: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Planninq File 2332 <br /> <br />Robert Seeger/Norwest Corporation request for a sign setback <br />variance at 1717 Lexington Avenue. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Carlson highlighted the history and details of the proposed <br />variance request. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Items discussed included visibility problems on the site, existing <br />si te conditions, the impact of the proposed signs on signs on <br />adjacent properties, alternative sign options including wall <br />signage, concern about existing sign clutter in the area and impact <br />of the proposed sign on it, timing of the need of the sign, the <br />impact of a lack of signage on business at the facility, <br />alternative sign plans considered by the applicant, right-of-way <br />dedication, the potential impact of a future relocation of the <br />Roseville Center sign, and the impact of tree foliage on <br />visibility. The Commission also discussed the possibility of <br />adopting a moratorium on accepting sign variance applications until <br />the comprehensive review of the sign ordinance is complete. <br /> <br />MOTION <br /> <br />Roberts moved and Thomas seconded a motion to recommend denial of <br />Robert Seeger/Norwest Corporation request for a sign setback <br />variance at 1717 Lexington Avenue for aesthetic reasons and for the <br />lack of a hardship demonstrated. <br /> <br />MOTION <br />
