Call to Order <br /> <br />Chair John Rhody called the regular meeting of the City of Roseville Planning Commission to order at 6:35 p.m. in the City <br />Council Chambers <br /> <br />2. Roll Call <br /> <br />Present: Chair John Rhody, Ed Cunningham, Mark Traynor, Doug Wilke, Janet Olson, Troy Duncan, Jim Mulder(arrived <br />late) <br /> <br />Absent: None <br /> <br />Staff present: Deb Bloom, Dennis Welsch, Thomas Paschke <br /> <br />Council present: None <br /> <br />3. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Motion: Member Cunningham moved, seconded by Member Wilke, to approve the minutes of the June 12 and June 13, <br />2001 meetings of the Planning Commission (with amendment to June 13 minutes as follows: page 8, line 31, delete "with <br />conditions that must be met", and insert "Roselawn Cemetery must follow State and Federal regulations", and, page 8, <br />line 44-46 amend as: Ayes: Rhody, Cunningham, Duncan, Olson, Traynor Nays: Wilke, Mulder; Motion carried 5-2). <br /> <br />Ayes: 7 <br /> <br />Nays: 0 <br /> <br />4. Communications from the Public <br /> <br />Chair Rhody introduced the new City Manager Neal Beets. Mr. Beets said he appreciated the work and public service of <br />the Commission. <br /> <br />5. Consent Agenda <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />6. Public Hearings <br /> <br />6(a) Planning File 3315: A request by Roselawn Cemetery for a Conditional Use Permit to allow the construction of a <br />crematory on the cemetery grounds adjacent to the existing office and garage <br /> <br />Chair Rhody opened the hearing and requested Thomas Paschke to provide a verbal summary of the project report dated <br />July 11, 2001. <br /> <br />Thomas Paschke reviewed the concerns expressed at the June meeting, noting the Planning Commission tabled <br />consideration of the Crematory to the July meeting. He explained the standards in the packet and noted that noise from a <br />crematory will be similar to an air conditioning unit that can be screened with trees. He explained the City must follow PCA <br />standards. Staff recommended approval. <br /> <br />Member Mulder arrived at the meeting. <br />
