<br />Andrea McDowell Poehler explained that the sensitive uses in the ordinance have been accepted by the Courts. <br /> <br />There being no further discussion, the Chair closed the hearing. <br /> <br />Motion: Member Duncan moved, seconded by Member Mulder, to adopt a resolution of findings of fact regarding effects <br />of sexually oriented businesses. <br /> <br />Member Mulder strongly recommended approval. <br /> <br />Ayes: 6 <br />Nays: 0 <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion: Member Duncan moved, seconded by Member Wilke to recommend adoption of an ordinance which adds new <br />language and regulation in the City's official controls relating to sexually oriented business uses, including the City's <br />zoning and land use regulations, and include 1,320 feet separation from Residential and "B-1" zoning districts. <br /> <br />Ayes: 6 <br />Nays: 0 <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />City Attorney Joel Jamnik suggested that the additional land uses suggested by Member Olson be added to Section <br />1017.03A, 2 to 8. <br /> <br />Andrea McDowell Poehler noted that in addition to land use regulations, licensing would also be recommended to City <br />Council. <br /> <br />Member Mulder suggested more clarity in the wording of civic and government buildings. <br /> <br />Motion: Member Mulder moved, seconded by Member Duncan, to direct staff to provide more wording on civic, <br />government and public buildings. <br /> <br />Ayes: 6 <br />Nays: 0 <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />8. Other Action <br /> <br />Member Olson asked for clarity on the zoning study meetings. <br /> <br />Member Duncan suggested delegating the study to a subgroup which would bring back recommendations to the Planning <br />Commission. Staff could outline changes for consideration and ask members who might be interested in attending a study <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Thomas Paschke explained the staff process of review. <br /> <br />Member Wilke asked for a second copy of the zoning study meetings. <br /> <br />A general discussion ensued. <br /> <br />The Commission agreed to a five-meeting schedule: <br /> <br />May 15: City Council Chambers 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. <br /> <br />June 19: City Council Chambers 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. <br /> <br />July 17: City Council Chambers 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. <br />
