Call to Order <br /> <br />Chair Mulder called the regular meeting of the City of Roseville Planning Commission to order at 6:30 p.m., in the City Hall <br />Council Chambers. <br /> <br />2. Roll Call <br /> <br />Present: Bakeman, Peper, Stone, Mulder, Ipsen, Traynor, Blank <br />Absent: None <br />Staff present: Dennis Welsch, Thomas Paschke <br />Council present: None <br /> <br />3. Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />Motion: Member Bakeman moved, second by Member Peper, to approve the Planning Commission minutes of <br />January 7, 2004, with typographic corrections from Member Bakeman and correction from Member Traynor: page <br />9, lines 22 and 23 should read "...it is appropriate to deny". <br /> <br />Ayes: 6 <br />Nays: 0 <br />Abstain: 1 (Mulder) <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. Communications from the Public: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />5. Consent Agenda: (The Planning Commission may decide upon the issues listed in the Consent Agenda with one motion, <br />without further discussion.) <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />6. Continued Public Hearings <br /> <br />a. Planning File 3536: Request by Ms. Kara Rose, 998 Brooks Avenue, for an 11 foot Variance to Section <br />1 004.02D4 of the Roseville City Code to allow the construction of a deck and porch that would encroach <br />into the required 30 foot setback. <br /> <br />Chair Mulder opened the continued hearing and requested the City Planner present the verbal summary of the staff <br />report dated February 4, 2004. The Chair explained the reason for the continuance was that residents were not <br />heard at the Planning Commission meeting of January 7, 2004. <br /> <br />Thomas Paschke, City Planner, explained that the applicant seeks approval of an 11 foot Variance to Section <br />1004.0204 (Corner Lot Setback) of the Roseville City Code to allow the construction of a 14 foot deep deck and <br />porch, 19 feet from the west (Aglen Street) property line. He illustrated the proposal with photos and explained the <br />site slopes and the preservation of existing trees. <br /> <br />Mr. Paschke further indicated that based on the information provided and the findings in Section 5 of this project <br />report, the Community Development Staff recommends approval of an 11 foot Variance to Section 1004.0204 (side <br />
