6. Twin Lakes Transportation Plan

Dennis Welsch, Community Development Director, gave a presentation
on traffic and utilities concerns in the Twin Lakes Area. Duane Schwartz
and Deb Bloom gave additional information on traffic planning and
problems.

Duane Schwartz referenced the draft transportation plan to be presented to
the Council, which needs to be revised. He asked the Commission for
their comments on the traffic plan as it relates to this development.

Member Wilke asked if the county and state would be involved in
developing the city-wide model. Schwartz said they would be involved as
far as providing information about their roadways within the city and
statistics from outside the city limits.

Member Willenbring said he would need many hours to analyze the
information in the traffic report before he could give any
recommendations. Dennis Welsch said he thought it would be good for
the Commission to be the “piano tuner.” Situations will be changing
constantly, and he thinks the Commission would be the place to keep the
traffic model updated.

7.Updated Pedestrian Safety Improvement Costs

Deferred to the June meeting.

8.June Agenda

Updated Pedestrian Safety Improvement Costs
Winter Parking Restrictions
Recycling Report

9.Adjournment
