Roseville Public Works and Transportation Commission

Agenda Item

Date: November 21,2002

Item No: 5

Item Description: Bus Shelter Design Selection

Earlier this year the City Council revised language in the City code to allow for bus shelters to be
permitted in the right-of-way. This language also allows for advertisement panels to be attached
to the shelters for the purpose of generating revenue to offset the cost of the placement and
maintenance of shelters.

The City has also received a proposal from Outdoor Promotions Inc. wanting to place these
shelters at a number of locations in Roseville. A copy of a proposed agreement is attached as
part of this packet.

The City will have to decide on a shelter style if proceeding with this agreement. Attached are
several pictures of different shelter styles and information from the County Road C Framework
Manual regarding bus shelter architecture.

Staff will be prepared to present an overview of this effort at the meeting.

Recommended Action:

A motion recommending general architectural design of bus shelters for Roseville.

Move:

Second:

Ayes:

Nays:
