<br />Regular City Council Minutes - 5/12/03 <br />DRAFT Minutes - Page 25 <br /> <br />Commission reviewing if this Statute was something that <br />could be used in Roseville; what it could be used for; and <br />whether it was a viable option, or were there other options <br />available. <br /> <br />Councilmember Klausing stated his inclination to vote <br />against the motion, opining that now didn't seem to be a <br />prudent time to consider creation of a new tax, when the <br />City was trying to determine the fallout from existing <br />budget issues; and expressed his preference for further <br />discussion by the Council and more information provided <br />by staff prior to referral to the Commission. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn expressed his support of the motion in <br />providing the voters to make the decision regarding <br />increased taxes for road and pathway maintenance. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder opined that, while not sure of <br />his future support of an additional tax, he supported the <br />Commission reviewing the idea to see if it was worth <br />pursumg. <br /> <br />Ayes: <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Maschka, Kough, Schroeder, and Kysylyczyn. <br />Klausing. <br /> <br />B. Northwest Y outb and Family Services Funding <br />Kysylyczyn moved, Schroeder seconded authorizing staff <br />to provide written notice to Northwest Youth and Family <br />Services (NYFS) that the City would not be able to <br />confirm funding for the NYFS 2004 budget by their <br />imposed date per the multi-year agreement; but that a <br />decision would be forthcoming by July 2, 2003 following <br />the end of the state legislative session. <br /> <br />Mayor Kysylyczyn stated his position in not supporting a <br />reduction in funding to the NYFS; but addressed the need <br />to allow staff and Councilinembers to review the budget <br />following the state legislative session and pending <br />implications to local govemment. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schroeder expressed concern that the city <br /> <br />(0-.6 <br /> <br />Northwest Youth <br />and Family Service <br />Funding <br />
