CITY OF ROSEVILLE RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 7, SECTION 703.05 OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE CONCERNING BUS BENCHES THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE ORDAINS: SECTION 1. Section 703.05 of the Roseville City Code is amended to read as follows: 703.05: BUS STOP STRUCTURES BENCHES IN RIGHT OF WAY: No bench or shelter may be placed or maintained in a public right of way without securing a permit from the public works director and the payment of an annual license fee of!weffiy!!lli:!Y five dollars ($;!:i5.00) per bench. The number, size, and locations of all benches and shelters shall be in accordance with the city of Roseville/metro transit bus route plan. A permit shall not be issued unless the bench and its placement comply with the following conditions: A. Bus Stops: A bench or sheller may only be placed at a bus stop on an established bus route. R Location: A bench or shelter shall be placed no nearer than four feet (4') from the roadway curb or the edge of the roadway where no curb exists and shall not obstruct a pathway. C. Number: No more than one bus bench or shelter may be placed at a roadway intersection in the direction of traffic flow. unless the public works director authorizes more benches in writing after finding that the passenger load iustifies more than one bench at a bus stoP. All bus benches shall bear the local teleohone number at which the vendor may be reached concemim! issues with the bench. D. Proximity to Other Benches or Shelters: No bus bench or shelter may be placed within five hundred feet (500') of any other bench or shelter on a roadway, unless the public works director authorizes more benches in writine: after findine: that the oassenl!er load iustifies more than one bench at a bus stoP. E. Size: The maximum size of a bench shall be three and one-halffeet (3 1/2') high, seven feet (7') long aud three feet (3') wide erected upon a concrete pad of maximum eight foot (8') length and four foot (41) width with walkway to the curb or roadway edge. The maximum amount of advertising on a bus bench shall not exceed ten square feet (10 sq. ft.)
