GOTTFRIED <br />Pioneer Press <br /> <br />The Metropolitan Council, the regional planning agency, is looking for people interested in <br />parks, transportation or housing and land use for openings on three advisory committees. Applicants must live <br />in the seven-county metro area. <br /> <br />. At least half of the 24 positions on the Housing and Land Use Advisory Committee will be local elected <br />officials, but the others are open to people with an interest or expertise in land use, comprehensive planning <br />and housing, topics on which the committee advises the Met Council. <br /> <br />For an application, which is due by 5 p.m. July 18, or for answers to questions, contact Sandi Dingle at (651) <br />602-1312 or ~ndLdjngle@m\'tc.stQte.mn~JJ,. <br /> <br />. The Transportation Accessibility Advisory Committee, which advises the Met Council on regional door-to-door <br />publiC transportation, is seeking a chairman and eight members, with a balance of older or disabled people <br />who use special transportation services, contract providers of such services or representatives from agencies <br />for older people or people with disabilities. <br /> <br />Applications, which are also due by 5 p.m. July 18, are available from Alison Coleman at (651) 602-1701, and <br />information can be obtained from Dana Rude at (651) 602-1663. <br /> <br />. All nine positions are open on the Metropolitan Parks and Open Space Commission, which helps the Met <br />Council develop long-range plans for regional parks and trails. Eight citizen members represent different areas <br />of the seven-county metro area and the chair serves at-large. <br /> <br />Candidates must live in the district they represent; districts are labeled by letters.
