2003 Public Works Transportation Commission Tour
October 23, 2003

. City Hall! Public Works Building Project

. Josephine Road: When this street was reconstructed in 2001, we worked very closely with the
neighborhood. The parking bays and narrow street design are intended to give the street a more
residential feel. The sidewalk was a part of the Citizen Pathway Committee's recommendations to
have a pathway around all of the City's significant water bodies and along all State Aid Streets.

. Arona Development Site: The Arona pond was identified as a "problem area" and modeled as a
pal1 of the Comprehensive Storm Water Management Plan. The City has a contractor that will be
excavating the basin creating additional water quality storage as well as providing a permanent lift
station to pump down this land locked basin. The Applewood Point redevelopment is located to
the n0l1hwest of the pond.

. Pathway Rehabilitation: This segment of pathway was reconstructed as part of 2003 Pathway &
Parking Lot Reconstruction Program. This is done mainly using City Staff; however, portions of
the projects are contracted out. By utilizing City staff to do removal, grading, utility and
restoration work we are able to achieve significant cost savings.

. Oakcrest Mill and Overlay: Reconstructed as part of 2003 Street Reconstruction Program.

. Rosebrook Parking lot: Reconstructed as part of 2003 Pathway & Parking Lot Reconstruction
Program.

. Target Redevelopment Site: Target is proposing to redevelop their store at Snelling and County
Road B. This intersection has many safety issues that we have been working to address with
Ramsey County and the State.

. Larpenteur Avenue Streetscape Project: Construction started October 1,2003.

. Woodview Marsh Restoration Project: This Partnership project with Capitol Region Watershed
District. Two open water wetlands were excavated in this Ramsey County Open space. These
qualify for wetland replacement credits.

. Villa Park Restoration Project: Partnership project with Capitol Region Watershed District. The
wetland provides water quality treatment for Lake McCarrons. To be constructed this winter.

. Compost Site: The site has become very busy in the last two weeks with Roseville home owners
dropping off their leaves. The Leaf pick up programs starts next week. We have above average
participation this year, there are 2300 residents signed up as of today. We anticipate that this
year's program will be completed by mid-November
