<br />RosevilIe Public Works and Transportation Commission <br /> <br />Agenda Item <br /> <br />Date: December 18, 2003 <br /> <br />Item No: 4 <br /> <br />Item Description: Communication Items <br /> <br />2003 Pond Maintenance Proiect <br /> <br />Background: <br />The City's overall stoml water system contains 96 Lakes, Ponds and Wetlands. The Public <br />Works staff has completed an inventory of the storm water basins throughout the City. As a part <br />of this inventory the condition of each basin was rated. We have been budgeting money <br />annually for storm sewer maintenance, including sediment removal in ponds. This project <br />includes sediment delta removal from the following basins, Belmett Lake, Charlie Pond, Long <br />Lake Pond, Oasis Pond, and Villa Park Pond. See attached map for locations. Bids were <br />solicited during late November, and were opened on Wednesday, December 10, 2003. <br /> <br />The engineer's estimate for the 2003 Pond Maintenance Project was $98,000. We received 7 <br />bids for this improvement. The low bid submitted by Jay Brothers is $5,000 lower than the <br />engineer's estimate.
