My wife and I own The Press Gym which is located at 2560 N Fry St in Roseville. We
wanted to bring to your attention a situation that has occurred in our neighborhood. MnDot bas erected a temporary
barrier and is planning on pelTIlantIy closing the crossover/median at Oakcrest and Snelling Aves. This closing will
affect the James Addition neighborhood and businesses in many ways. It will decrease the accessibility 10 tbe
neighborhood for police, fire and emergency vehicles. Speaking with a number of policeman, firefighters and
EMT's who train at our gym, we have been told that this crossover is used frequently when responding to
emergency calls both in as well as out of this neighborhood. The closing will increase the traffic ibrough the
neighborhood as many residents, business customers and Rosebrook Park users will now be forced to use other
entrances and exits to the neighborhood. Specifically, the intersection of Oakcrest and Fairview, already a trouble
spot for congestion, will become much busier than il already is. Our business, which already lacks visibilty, will
suffer from the increased lack of accessibility. Rosebrook Park, which recently went through a major renovation
with the addition of lighted soccer fields, walking track and playground equipment is used much more than it ever
has becn. This has caused additional traffic to flow through this ueighborhood and the closing will do more so. We
have been told by the North district manager for MnDot that they would look at a recomendation or resolution
concerning this problem. We would like to ask for you consideration in this matter. Please feel free to e-mail us
back or call al 651-697-9002 if you have any questions. Thank you

Dan and Kim Stock
The Press Gym

--- Dan Stock
--- danpress(ii.:,earthlink.net
--- EarthLink: Itls your Internet.

--- Dan Stock
--- d,mpress(cii,em.thlink.net
--- EarthLink: It's your Internet.

11/9/2004
