Roseville Public Works, Environment and
Transportation Commission

Agenda Item

Date: April 26, 2005

Item No: 5

Item Description: Pedestrian Safety Discussion

We talked briefly last month about pedestrian safety and crosswalks. Resident and council
member Greg Schroeder requested the Commission look into additional signage at high-use
crosswalks in the City. We have attached a map showing most of the marked crosswalks in the
City. We are also sending you some literature on signage products available. We will have
pictures at the meeting of some double facing of signs that has done in some areas. We will also
have pictures of many of the crosswalk areas you see on the map

Sergeant Eric Christensen of the Roseville Police Department will be present to talk to you about
enforcement and their perspective on pedestrian safety.

Recommended Action:

Discussion of future direction on this issue.
