The standard design for residential streets is 32 feet wide with an asphalt surface. A six inch (6" high, straight- face concrete curb and gutter is installed at the same time. Removal of underground sprinkler systems in the boulevard is the property owner's responsibility. Please make arrangements to have the lines removed prior to staIi of constrnction. The new street will be constrncted to match the elevation of existing driveways as closely as possible. It will be necessary, however, to replace the end of your driveway to ensnre a smooth transition to the street. This replacement will be in gravel, asphalt or concrete depending on what material existed prior to constrnction. Similarly, in order to match the new curb and gutter to your yard, sod will be replaced adjacent to the street. There is no additional charge for these replacements. As long as your proposed changes conform to Roseville' s driveway code, additions or changes to your driveway can be made with the street project. You must, however, pay any additional costs for extra work prior to the work starting. Call the Roseville Engineering Department at 651-792-7003 if you would like more specific information. The contractor will work closely with the local post office to ensure uninterrnpted mail delivery. Mail boxes will be grouped together at a nearby corner. Following constrnction, your mailbox will be replaced as close as possible to its original location or a location specified by the homeowner. Mailboxes are grouped together during construction. Most eXlstmg roadways vary in width and, therefore, some trees may be affected. If it is necessary to remove a tree or shrnb, the City will work with the property owner on its replacement. If you have perennials or bulbs in the boulevard, please remove them prior to construction. All streets when upgraded are served by stann drainage facilities. These will be installed as part of the street reconstrnction project. Construction usua]]y takes from 3 to 5 months. Contractors are required to keep the road passable and provide driveway access whenever possible. If you have special access needs, let us know as soon as possible. The City will provide updates throughout the construction project regarding the schedule.
