6. Commission Rules of Procedure Duane Schwartz went over the handouts and asked for the Commission’s comments. Chair Wilke said they could use the job description as the focal point and go from there. He thought the handbook from the City Manager was very well done and full of good information. He wants to discuss this topic more next month. 7.Energy Audit Discussion Duane Schwartz presented information staff had collected. Xcel energy has been contacted regarding an audit, but they have not responded as of yet. Member Shiely questioned whether Xcel would be very helpful in reducing costs. Schwartz disagreed and outlined several cases where they were very helpful in that regard to the City. Member Shiely restated what he was looking for in an energy audit. Schwartz said that staff was already keeping an eye on energy bills and checking periodically to make sure we weren’t being overcharged, but if the Commission wanted to look into it further, staff would do that. Chair Wilke said he was satisfied with the way things were currently being handled. Members Fischer and Willenbring agreed that they were satisfied as well. 8.Cooperation with Other Jurisdictions Duane Schwartz shared information on this topic with the Commission. The Engineering Department is currently looking into providing engineering services for Falcon Heights and Arden Hills. 9.August Agenda Recycling Discussion 10.Adjournment Chair Wilke asked to adjourn the meeting. Member Shiely requested additional time to present possible topics for discussion at future meetings. He thinks air alerts should be broadcast on Channel 16. He showed a map with current air sampling stations, which are all south of Roseville, and said the wind blows from the north 50% of the time so Roseville’s air is not sampled 50% of the time.
