monitor operations to make sure things are being done in the most
efficient way.

- Additional Information on Well Monitoring

Member Shiely spoke again on private wells and that he was trying to
come up with a way for the 100 residents who still use a well for drinking
water to hook up to city water. Chair Wilke questioned what this had to
do with the Commission. He said Member Shiely was putting more of a
burden on city employees to gather information that wasn’t going to be
useful to anyone. Member Shiely said he was gathering this information
himself. Member Willenbring asked Member Shiely what he was trying
to accomplish with this. Member Shiely said that in Roseville there’s a
high likelihood of contamination in the water. Member Willenbring asked
what he wants the City of Roseville to do. Member Shiely said he hasn’t
decided yet because he didn’t have all his information. Chair Wilke said if
he didn’t know where he was going with this topic, they shouldn’t be
wasting any time on it. Member Willenbring said he thought Shiely
should have waited until he had all the information he wanted before
bringing it up.

- Update on Watershed Rules

Duane Schwartz said he attended a meeting with the Rice Creek
Watershed District and relayed the concerns of the Commission to them at
that time. They said they would take the information under advisement.
Schwartz said he hasn’t heard of any additional meeting at this time.

- Presentation Time Limits

Member Shiely said he thought they should set time limits for
presentations and public comments. He thought it would speed things up.
He then said there were some housekeeping issues to take care of and
asked Chair Wilke to send a letter to Mihai Marasteanu. He then wanted
to send a letter to the police offer who prepared information for an article
in the Roseville City News. Chair Wilke said that in all his experience
with city commission many people gave presentations and spoke but no
letters were ever sent out from the Commission. As far as sending letters
to ex-commission members, the Administration Department sends letters
thanking then for their service. He said they should stick with standard
procedure. Member Fischer said he thought it wouldn’t be a good thing to
start because then you’d be obligated to send a letter to everyone.
Member Willenbring agreed that they should continue with the procedures
they’ve been following.
