Recycle America ALLIANCE A Subsidiary of Waste Management SUMMARY Sin21e-Sort Constituent Test October 18, 2003 Purpose This report provides information resulting from a test performed at the Twin Cities Materials Recovery Facility (TCMRF). The purpose for the test was to determine the resulting material constituents resulting from single-sort collection and processing. The TCMRF is an integrated facility accepting materials from several types of collection styles (streams). The process lines are linked and various streams are processed concurrently on the process lines during normal operations. Therefore, a separate running of just single-sort material was required to classify constituents and process results for this stream. Procedures Waste Management hauling operations provided single-sort material to the TCMRF on a Saturday morning for the segregated processing of material collected exclusively by this method. All material was processed in the facility according to normal operating procedures. Processed materials were collected and weighed to determine make-up. Operations and data collection were witnessed by Mr. Dave Kohorst, Financial Analyst, acting in an accounting role for the tabulation of data.
