The <br />City staff liaison to a commission or the City Attorney will advise us <br />when a super-majority vote is required to approve a motion. <br /> <br />4. Other Meeting Procedures <br />A quorum (majority) of the Council or a commission is necessary to <br />hold a valid meeting. Action is taken by a majority vote of the quo- <br />rum present for the meeting. <br /> <br />Sometimes when a Councilmember or Commission Member is absent <br />from a meeting or abstains from voting on an agenda item, you could <br />have a tie vote.
