<br />· To establish cost-sharing programs between organizations who wish to create <br />and maintain enhanced GIS data bases <br />· To cooperate with metropolitan and regional organizations (such as the I-35W <br />Coalition and MetroGIS) in the promotion of GIS <br />. To have access to a current and accurate base of GIS data from Ramsey County <br />for downloading to each site via web, CD or other electronic means and to have <br />organizations linked to each other to enable simple and rapid transfer of <br />information <br />· To give organizations the ability to look beyond their own boundaries and have <br />access to data on a County-wide basis for issues such as land use capacities, <br />social services planning, commuter needs, transit planning, air and water <br />contamination, and security and emergency planning, <br />· To provide data to the County to assist them with their day to day tasks (e.g. city <br />permits) <br /> <br />The group received the Governor's Council on Geographic Information Award in <br />2003 for its efforts in collaboration over the years. In 2003, the group concentrated <br />on the following themes: <br />· Enterprise GIS - development of public web mapping tools and member <br />organization GIS warehouse concepts (see online mapping released December <br />2003 at: http://maps.metro-inet.us ) <br />· Addressing - development of centralized, coordinated consistent addressing <br />county-wide <br />· Community GIS - working with neighborhoods within both Ramsey County <br />and metro-wide in collection of local data and dissemination of information at <br />the local level <br />· Outreach - continued education of membership and community of our GIS <br />activities and benefits <br />· Emergency Management - coordination with MetroGIS metropolitan and <br />statewide efforts in providing GIS data for emergency response and in planning. <br /> <br />Roseville Comprehensive Plan - 2003 Update <br /> <br />Implementation Program - Page 11 of 11 <br />
