" <br /> <br />In other words, this term broadly includes herbicides for weeds, insecticides f <br />fungicides for fungi and molds, rodenticides for rodents and many other mate <br />manage pests. Recent research has found that exposure to pesticides and their <br />can have a harmful effect on human health (especially children), wildlife, wil <br />water quality and surface water ecosystems. The City of Shoreview, has adop <br />regarding pesticide use to minimize the risk to human health, wildlife and the <br />environment. <br /> <br />What are the risks to human health? <br /> <br />Risks associated with pesticides are tied to toxicity and exposure. Toxicity rei <br />chemical make-up of the pesticide while exposure relates to the dose and rout <br />(eyes, skin, mouth, lungs). Pesticides with a moderate level of toxicity but ha' <br />exposure level may be safer to use in certain situations. All pesticides carry si <br />indicate the level of toxicity based on the most toxic route of entry into the be <br />levels include: Danger and Danger/Poison, Warning and Caution. <br /> <br />Recent research has found that exposure to pesticides may have a negative efi <br />health, Children are especially at risk. Documented effects include: <br /> <br />. Nausea, fatigue, skin and muscle reactions <br />. Respiratory problems <br />. Kidney and liver damage <br />.
