Positively separates pedestrians and vehicles. <br /> . Very effective at reducing pedestrian/vehicle conflicts. <br /> . <br />Disadvantages . Moderately costly to implement. <br /> . Requires systematic deployment to achieve high levels of effectiveness. <br /> 'Increased maintenance efforts. <br /> . Mixed neighborhood acceptance. <br />Problems Targeted . High levels of pedestrian activity. especially aVnear pedestrian generators <br /> (schools, parks, retail areas, etc) <br />Design .
