Variance Board Meeting <br />Minutes – Wednesday, August 02, 2006 <br />Page 4 <br />minimum cost to the property owner while not compounding area drainage concerns. <br />Commissioner Boerigter opined that the Commission needed more information prior to <br />hearing a case; and that applicants needed a better idea of staff recommendations or <br />requirements before reaching the Variance Board and Public Hearing process. <br />Mr. Paschke concurred that it was staff’s objective that the applicant be fully aware of the <br />process and have discussed their options prior to the Variance Board Hearing. Mr. Paschke <br />advised that staff was currently working with the Engineering Department and hoped to have <br />recommendations to the Planning Commission and City Council by year-end for City Code <br />and Ordinance Amendments. <br />Commissioners concurred and asked that Commissioner Boerigter advise the Planning <br />Commission at their meeting regarding the proposed amendments related to design <br />standards for single-family residential properties to meet the stricter rules being applied by <br />area watershed districts. <br />5.
