2

"Human rights (that is fighting to preserve human rights) is a
difficult task, but we must continue to inch along inch by inch,
row by row, as there is no free lunch. The struggle is the price
we pay. We just cannot afford to abandon it. Just like charity,
iustice begins at home. Keep up the work of the commissions."

To sum up--Cooper advised that the Department of Human Rights
will come out to each local commission and do a workshop, telling
how the law works for human rights in our state. We just have to
call his office. He will also come out and speak with our commis-
sion to address any concerns we have.

Red Wing and Moorhead now have active commissions, bringing the
total active commissions around the state to 41.

Thanks for your time, hope to see you next month.

Thelma McKenzie, Commissioner
Roseville Human Rights Commission

Enclosure
